One mistake many interpreters of the book of Revelation make is they take the book and place some of its events before it was written when the writer clearly says that this will take place in the future after it has been written. Naturally, as soon as I read a person doing that I know they are misinformed and unlikely to understand its hidden truths.
Secondly, for anyone to understand the symbols of Revelation, these would have to come from the Bible itself in large measure. Moses was shown God's blueprint and this suggests that in order to understand Revelation, the person needs to understand what God gave Moses. Since I have yet to come across one person who understands the full significance of the Ten Commandments, I know whatever they say will be suspect.
Thirdly, some things appear to be obvious, while others are not so. Since the Bible is talking about what is going to happen on the Earth, it seems rather coincidental that there are to be ten horns and seven heads to this beast. Suppose the seven heads represented the seven continents of the Earth to signify the Devil was the Beast and the ten horns represented 10 regions of government around the globe.
The idea of seven heads representing the continents of the Earth and the ten horns representing ten regions of government under a One World Government has merit. It just so happens that when the Universal Product Codes, known as bar codes, originally came out, there were ten regions embedded within them. Those regions that were earmarked originally have been subject to change and although I believe I know what the three horns of the ten horns that will become one, I am not sure of the composition of the other seven regions as they have not been finalized by the powers that be.
As for the 144,000, that is the Bride of Christ. They are not Israelites of the flesh. They are true Israelites. True Israelites are circumcised of heart.
- For he is not a real Jew who is one outwardly, nor is true circumcision something external and physical. He is a Jew who is one inwardly, and real circumcision is a matter of the heart, spiritual and not literal. His praise is not from men but from God. (Romans 2:28-29)
The problem for too many people who call themselves Christians is they know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God. (Mark 12:24)
Unfortunately, most of the false presumptuous claims, to date, have been so wrong it is not funny. Name one person who has written about the last days and has got it right. I know of not one. Unless a person understands the Milk of the Word, there is no way they are going to understand the all other truths given to Moses let alone the book of Revelation. The truths given to Moses are essential to understanding the book of Revelation.
Tragically, when it comes to understanding the Scriptures, most commentators throw the baby out with the bathwater. They think that the only words written by GOD Himself are of little consequence, whereas their method of interpretation is more exact. Like philosophers they start out with an assumption and then find texts to fit. Yet the Bible states that if people do not speak according to the Law (the words God Himself wrote), they have no light in them--twilight maybe, but no true light.
If one is to understand what is written in the Scriptures, one has to live them, not just know about them or quote them. This way, the Holy Spirit reveals the truth and the log is taken out of each one's eyes, so each one can see the revelation of the hope to which each one is called (Ephesians 1;18). This is the true enlightenment.
Most people calling themselves Christians are opinionated and they are not walking with Lord Jesus Christ. To walk with Lord Jesus Christ, the first step is to know Him, the second is to understand the Milk of the Word.
