Why do people believe lies rather than the truth?
People believe lies because we have the capacity to reason and comprehend ideas. Ideas can be true or imaginary. Hence, people speak of the imaginary Creator of the Universe, while at the same time imagine that some manmade idea is the truth.
There is no evidence of the Big Bang, but people like to believe this is the case, even though they never saw it happen and cannot reproduce it according to the scientific criteria they claim would verify it. Still they imagine it is fact and believe it to be the truth.
The fairy of evolution is another tale that people like to believe is true. However, even if shown artifacts that contradict what they want to believe, the believers of the fairy of evolution will not change. Like a rusted-on nut on old machinery left out in the open too long, they will not be moved. You see, they believe in their fairy.
The reality is that death besets us all. Nobody is reincarnated, otherwise children would be born able to speak and tell of the what happened in their previous lives. Instead, even someone like the Dalai Lama, who supposedly has lived fourteen lives, had to go to school and learn. Yet he was not as bright as Einstein or any of the other great intellects, as far as I am aware.
Since people are born but once, and after death comes judgment, one would think that everybody would desire to know the truth about existence. However, the deceiver has many under his grip and manipulates people as they are lured and tempted by their desires for the forbidden fruit of iniquity.
The Bible informs us how sin comes about, what prevents people from discovering the truth, and what inhibits them from learning how they have been duped out of the promises of God for them.
- Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted with evil and he himself tempts no one; but each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin; and sin when it is full-grown brings forth death. Do not be deceived. (James 1:13-16 )
- Take care, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. (Hebrews 3:12-13)
- And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled only to those who are perishing. In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the likeness of God. (2 Corinthians 4:3-4)
Many believe in tales about the fairy of evolution and other unprovables that have never been witnessed, and which cannot be reproduced according to true scientific theory. Like the recidivists, these individuals are also inclined to have blurred lenses when it comes to eyes of their hearts, otherwise known as their conscience. Tragically, for such individuals, unless the lens of their hearts are washed clean, they will stumble and fall into the pit, rather than receive the promises that are in the Bible for those who hate evil and desire the truth.
Absolute Claims Demand Absolute Proof So Have No Doubt That Death Is Absolute
