POLITICAL SCAMS ARE A MAJOR ISSUE BECAUSE POLITICIANS HAVE LEARNED HOW TO MAXIMIZE WHAT THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH WITHOUT UPSETTING THE APPLE CART. Since Swamps Are Places For Many Different Creatures, They All Have One Objective In Mind, How To Make The Most Of Their Moments In Power. But to suggest that people giving 10% of their income to a Church as some kind of polite scam is stretching one’s imagination because a tithe is a voluntary offering whereas taxation which is more than 10% is a compulsory take to pay the wage, the perks and lurks of politicians.

What is a tithe?
Word History: A tithe is a tenth, etymologically speaking; in fact, tithe is the old ordinal numeral in English. Sound changes in the prehistory of English are responsible for its looking so different from the word ten. Tithe goes back to a prehistoric West Germanic form *tehuntha-, formed from the cardinal numeral *tehun, "ten," and the same ordinal suffix that survives in Modern English as -th
Evidently, according to the Bible, the tithe was something Abraham did when He met Melchizedek. The tithe is a tenth.
  • And Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was priest of God Most High. And he blessed him and said, “Blessed be Abram by God Most High, maker of heaven and earth; and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand!”And Abram gave him a tenth of everything. And the king of Sodom said to Abram, “Give me the persons, but take the goods for yourself.” But Abram said to the king of Sodom, “I have sworn to the Lord God Most High, maker of heaven and earth, that I would not take a thread or a sandal-thong or anything that is yours, lest you should say, ‘I have made Abram rich.’ I will take nothing but what the young men have eaten, and the share of the men who went with me; let Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre take their share.” (Genesis 14:18-24)
After Abraham tithed the tenth, the Bible records that Jacob made a vow to tithe to God.
  • Then Jacob made a vow, saying, “If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat and clothing to wear, so that I come again to my father’s house in peace, then the Lord shall be my God, and this stone, which I have set up for a pillar, shall be God’s house; and of all that thou givest me I will give the tenth to thee.”
Obviously, these two patriarchs, fathers of Israel according to the flesh, were not creating a scam for some church. In the last book of the Old Testament, we read that the Jews were upbraided because they did not tithe.
  • “For I the Lord do not change; therefore you, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed. From the days of your fathers you have turned aside from my statutes and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you, says the Lord of hosts. But you say, ‘How shall we return?’ Will man rob God? Yet you are robbing me. But you say, ‘How are we robbing thee?’ In your tithes and offerings. You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing me; the whole nation of you. Bring the full tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house; and thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you an overflowing blessing. I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not destroy the fruits of your soil; and your vine in the field shall not fail to bear, says the Lord of hosts. Then all nations will call you blessed, for you will be a land of delight, says the Lord of hosts.
From what is written in the Bible, the tithe does not appear to be a scam. Rather it is something that helps sort out the genuine from those who are not genuine; those who desire to return to God from those who play games.
