THERE IS MUCH CONTROVERSY AMONG CHRISTIANS OVER WATCHING FILMS THAT CONTAIN SORCERY AND WITCHCRAFT. Watching Such Films Is Believed To Affect People Subconsciously Even If They Consciously Reject The Ideas As False. Conditioning is not done by giving lectures or talks, rather more what people see and feel.

As a Christian, how do you feel about watching the upcoming Doctor Strange movie, a film that features sorcery and witchcraft?

The probability of myself watching the movie is highly unlikely. Watching movies is something that I do infrequently.

Many films (not all) are used as a propaganda means to condition people to accepting ideas in society. While a film containing sorcery and witchcraft, such as any of the Harry Potter films, can be deemed harmless if one understands that sorcery and witchcraft only works upon those who are susceptible to allowing these things to affect them.

People think that evil forces do not exist. They do. But they are powerless over those who do not acknowledge them in many instances. Children are susceptible to acknowledging them and therefore such films are detrimental to young minds.

Many people suffer from numerous ailments because of the curses that are placed upon them by those that hate them. This is why people get inexplicable cancers, inexplicable bone disease and inexplicable joint pain. However, this does not affect people who are looking to Lord Jesus Christ and who are covered by the righteous blood of His covenant.

• Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant. (Hebrews 13:2o)

The other problem with films that portray the occult is they create doubt in people. Even though a person may consciously dismiss the idea that witches and warlocks exist, and if they do they are a joke, watching such films penetrate the subconscious realms of the mind. This is where most peoples’ problems occur.

While everybody has been given freewill, personally I would not recommend watching anything that has detrimental effects upon people, unless another person was able to provide commentary that would be beneficial. Even then, it is better to focus on the good, rather than the evil. Or to use a correlation of learning how to distinguish between counterfeit money from the genuine, which is done by familiarizing oneself with the genuine money only; by focusing on what the Lord God has, this will demonstrate why considering the counterfeit as unnecessary.
