Called Roman Catholic to distinguish them from the Universal Church that does not submit to the Vicar of Christ in Rome, those who are members of this organization subscribe to the idea that the world will eventually come under its reign. Once the reign of the church is complete then the day of judgment will happen.
The official Catechism of the Catholic Church states:
680 Christ the Lord already reigns through the Church, but all the things of this world are not yet subjected to him. The triumph of Christ's kingdom will not come about without one last assault by the powers of evil.681 On Judgment Day at the end of the world, Christ will come in glory to achieve the definitive triumph of good over evil which, like the wheat and the tares, have grown up together in the course of history.682 When he comes at the end of time to judge the living and the dead, the glorious Christ will reveal the secret disposition of hearts and will render to each man according to his works, and according to his acceptance or refusal of grace. Catechism of the Catholic Church, part 1,section 2,chapter 2, article 7
Whether this is what individual Roman Catholics really believe is another matter; for many think it is okay to disobey what is required of people by the Lord God and see nothing wrong with seducing innocent children, even raping them. Not only this, there are the issues of the Pope claiming to have the power to authorize people, who have died, to answer prayers, and instruct adherents to pray to these individuals, even erecting statues of them for parishioners to bow before as they make their requests. Contrary to the Bible, marriage is prohibited for priests and nuns. Then there is the portrayal of Jesus still being on the Cross and the priests using magic to turn the wafers into the very person of Lord Jesus Christ (transubstantiation). Not to mention the many murders and massacres of people that have been done by Roman Catholics authorized by the Pope in the Name of Lord Jesus Christ.
- You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies. (John 8:44)
- Any one who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. (1 John 3:15)
There is a difference between pointing out iniquity and committing murder. Those who are of the truth hears the words that are true.
- They are of the world, therefore what they say is of the world, and the world listens to them. We are of God. Whoever knows God listens to us, and he who is not of God does not listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. Beloved, let us love one another; for love is of God, and he who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God; for God is love. (1 John 4:5-8)
The irony is that within the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church are statements that are true, but it is the doers of the truth who are saved, not the those who call upon the name of the Lord to do the work of the Devil. Therefore, when we read what some of the Catechism states, concerning the judgment, we read the true words of Scripture.
