For Mother Teresa to be canonized, some individual has to claim that he or she received a miracle from beseeching her after her death.
Now the Bible expressly speaks out against people who pray to those who have died and also against people who teach that it is possible to contact those who have died.
- And when they say to you, “Consult the mediums and the wizards who chirp and mutter,” should not a people consult their God? Should they consult the dead on behalf of the living? (Isaiah 8:19)
Why?
Besides what is written in Isaiah, we find the following words in the New Testament:
- For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. (1 Timothy 2:5)
- You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide; so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. (John 15:16)
The exception is Jesus of Nazareth. Being the Son of God He rose from the dead, having paid the price for sin on behalf of every person that has lived, who is alive today, and is yet to be born before His return.
Lord Jesus Christ is the only mediator between man and God. If we address the Father, we are informed that we need to go to Lord Jesus Christ or to call upon His name. We are not told to use the name of Mother Teresa. Either, we adhere to what is written in the Bible or we believe the Babylonians.
The Only Way To Have Our Prayers Answered By The Father Is Through The Son
