When you say what do you have to do to make it into Jesus’ rapture, I am assuming you mean His resurrection from the dead.
Jesus said that if we are to follow Him, we are to take up our own cross in order to do so. Jesus rose from the dead, so if we want to be raised from the dead, we need to follow Him. However, to do this we need to lose our life in the hope that we might find it again.
- But turning and seeing his disciples, he rebuked Peter, and said, “Get behind me, Satan! For you are not on the side of God, but of men.”34 And he called to him the multitude with his disciples, and said to them, “If any man would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it; and whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel’s will save it. For what does it profit a man, to gain the whole world and forfeit his life? For what can a man give in return for his life? For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him will the Son of man also be ashamed, when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”(Mark 8:33-38)
What Jesus says in the above passage points to the futility of being born only to die in this world. For what can a person give in return for his or her life.
David Rockefeller, who has been said to have had numerous heart transplants, apparently died of congestive heart failure.[1]
Regardless of what people do, death reigns. Therefore there is nothing we can do of ourselves in order to prevent death, even using the technology known to mankind. However, the only man of whom it is testified that He died an innocent man, as an expiation for sins (1 John 4:10; 1 John 2:2; Romans 3:25) in the place of a murderer (Acts 3:13-15), it is also testified that He lives, having gotten the victory over death (1 Timothy 3:16).
If any person desires to be triumphant over death and enter into the victory that the Son of God obtained, then that person needs to do what Jesus has instructed, and take up his cross, deny himself and follow Him.
First, it is necessary to make contact so that you might be able to follow Him.
These days, according to the Bible, the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ is located at the right hand of God. However, if any person calls out to Him, if genuine, that person will be heard. For each one’s heart is examined to discern the thoughts and intentions of the one making the call. The person who has true intentions is chosen.
- Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:1-2)
- And all the churches shall know that I am he who searches mind and heart, and I will give to each of you as your works deserve.(Revelation 2:23)
- Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, that no one fall by the same sort of disobedience. For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And before him no creature is hidden, but all are open and laid bare to the eyes of him with whom we have to do. (Hebrews 4:11-13)
While it may seem like a fearful thing to lose one’s life by taking up one’s cross to follow in the ways of Lord Jesus Christ, the ones that do can be assured that once one is dead to oneself, RIP does not mean rest in peace. RIP really means let it rip, as in being raised with Christ.
- But if Christ is in you, although your bodies are dead because of sin, your spirits are alive because of righteousness. If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also through his Spirit which dwells in you. (Romans 8:10-11)
Without the Spirit of Christ dwelling within there is not going to be a rapture at anytime for anyone.
