Whether This Was The Image Of The Real Jesus Is Open To Question But The Girl Thought He Appeared And Painted His Portrait. Interestingly, the length of Jesus' hair may be considered short or it may be considered long, as this depends upon one's perspective, because, for a woman, shoulder length hair is not considered long.

Why is Jesus depicted with long hair, when we know cultural norms at time dictated that men's hair should be short?

Another person can attest to having seen a vision of Jesus walking among the crowds of His day and being head and shoulders above all and sundry. He had curly dark brown hair. When he bent His knees and lowered himself into the crowd the authorities did not know where he went, because they were looking for a person who was taller than the others.

• So they took up stones to throw at him; but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple. (John 8:59)

Zacchaeus was of such short stature, that he could not see over the heads of the crowds that he had to get on a tree to see Jesus. Now if Jesus were shorter than or the same height as everyone else, even being on a tree could have been difficult for Zacchaeus to see him among the throngs. Still, Jesus was passing his way, and Zacchaeus got to speak to Him.

• He entered Jericho and was passing through. And there was a man named Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector, and rich. And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not, on account of the crowd, because he was small of stature. So he ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, for he was to pass that way. Apparently the man portrayed by Akiane as Jesus of Nazareth was 7ft tall, had three inch long hair—which is not particularly long (Prince Of Peace - Akiane Gallery)—and happened to be a carpenter.
