MANY WONDER WHY THERE ARE TEN COMMANDMENTS AND NOT SIX OR FOUR OR ONE WHEN IT COMES TO WHAT THE CREATOR GOD WROTE AT MT SINAI TO GIVE THE PEOPLE BELONGING TO THE ISRAEL NATION TO CONTEMPLATE AND ALSO FOR CHRISTIANS TO PONDER. Not All Christians Acknowledge That The Ten Commandments Apply To Them And Think That They Only Need To Acknowledge Two Commandments And Not The Ten Commandments Written By God Himself. Although we have two arms to swing around, the truth is we also have five fingers on each hand and when we raise our hands to acknowledge our Lord God, we also raise our ten fingers for some reason, so does this mean we do not acknowledge the ten fingers, because we only acknowledge the two arms or two hands that are raised.

If you actually read the Ten Commandments and compare them with what other people say they are, the first thing that stands out is how misinformed people really are these days. Yet they pontificate as if they were God Himself.
You say, “If you read all 10,most of them are the same.”
Let us see whose belief you are questioning.
The Ten Commandments
  1. And God spoke all these words, saying, “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. You shall have no other gods before me.”
  2. You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.
  3. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.
  4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
  5. Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
  6. You shall not murder.
  7. You shall not commit adultery.
  8. You shall not steal.
  9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
  10. You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his male servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor's(Exodus 20:1–17 ESV)
The Ten Commandments are ten distinct commands that apply to different aspects of human relationship and how one ought to relate to the Creator God, who delivers people from the futility of the bondage of being born to die.
The House of Death reigns on Earth and humans are enslaved to it.
Of course, only those who truly know the Lord God, who have been delivered from the house of slavery (John 8:36), can appreciate the truth of the Ten Commandments. Unfortunately, only a comparative few are chosen (Matthew 22:14), which may be the reason so many people are ignorant of the obvious—and when a moments thought is given to this, we are talking about billions of people being ignorant not just of the obvious but also the Ten Commandments: the only words written by God Himself.
As for the name of God, surely you know His name (Proverbs 30:3-4), because if you do not, you will not know who to call upon, so that you can be rescued from your bondage to death.
Something to contemplate:
גוְלֹא לָמַדְתִּי חָכְמָה וְדַעַת קְדשִׁים אֵדָע:
Neither have I learned wisdom, nor do I know the knowledge of the holy ones.
Who ascended to heaven and descended? Who gathered wind in his fists? Who wrapped the waters in a garment? Who established all the ends of the earth? What is his name and what is the name of his son, if you know?
As to why God decided upon ten Commandments, this is like asking why do people have ten digits on their fingers. Maybe the Ten Commandments exist because when ever we point a finger at another person, we ought to realize that finger might very well be pointed at us.
Some even say that when we point the finger at someone—our index finger—three more fingers (the middle, ring, and little) point back at us.
