Joan Rivers is said to have been killed because she made comments about Michelle Obama.
From CNN News: Joan Rivers known for her lack of self-censoring recently officiated a same-sex wedding and was asked by a photographer if she believed the United States would ever see the first gay or female president. Her response was typical Rivers.
"We already have it with Obama, so let's just calm down," she said. "You know Michelle (Obama) is a trans."
When asked to further explain Rivers said, "A transgender. We all know it."
A representative for Rivers released the following statement to CNN from the comic about her remarks to the photographer:
"I think it's a compliment. She's so attractive, tall, with a beautiful body, great face, does great makeup. Take a look and go back to La Cage Au Follies (sic). The most gorgeous women are transgender.
(The angels that forsook their original dwellings did not think so. Transgenders are the hybrids that like mules are sterile when it comes to becoming pregnant and giving birth to a child.—Genesis 6:4)
Although one wonders what he means when Peter Allen sings "when my baby smiles at me I go to Rio" . Many lyrics have hidden meanings. The double entendre is often found in many seeming innocent lyrics. More than this, often what people sing is a reflection of themselves.
Elvis Presley loved singing gospel songs. He is on record as having said that if he had his way he would have recorded gospel only.
Elvis Presley grew up in the church but the lure of fame and fortune was too strong and he gave in to the call from the depths of hell and endured the pain of not losing his life for Jesus Christ.
Many people mourn for Elvis Presley, but the truth is he liked the idea of all care for me and no responsibility taken. Yet in his heart there must have been so much pain. This is evident when he sings He Touched Me.
Many feel the pain that Elvis felt because they do not want to lose their lives for Jesus Christ so they will find it, beginning now and forever.
Another famous (or infamous artist) who claimed that he had a gift from God and even went to Bible College, but was forced out because of the way he liked to play the piano was Jerry Lee Lewis.
Many things could have been different if he were a little humbler and was willing to allow God to work in his favor. Unfortunately, Jerry Lee Lewis was into songs that were sexually implicit or even somewhat explicit as is evident when he sings Whole Lotta Shakin Goin On.
Kris Kristofferson, a personal friend of Jerry Lee Lewis in one interview I heard, said that Jerry Lee is devoutly religious. But then Kris Kristofferson might be given to hyperbole for, if I recall correctly, when interviewed about Elvis Presley's 1968 Comeback Special, he said, "Elvis looked so good I felt I wanted to marry him."
Lisa Minnelli claims Life is a Cabaret,...Well maybe she doesn't but she sang her song in a cabaret and appeared to give the impression that she believed life is a Cabaret. We often project more that we realize. It is worth noting that the Ho she sings about looked her best when lying in the morgue.
The Prodigal Son used to enjoy the Cabaret, but entertainment is a necessity when there is no peace or joy within. The fear of loneliness is not something we all want to face. Off to the cabaret to spend the hours sipping a few drinks to dull the pain, some glitter and candy to delight the eyes and the feel good effects that makes one think he is on top of the world looking down at creation, only it was always a delusion in the appearance of a wannabe.
Louis Armstrong sang Cabaret but his version excludes the pain that is evident in the version sung by Lisa Minnelli.
Come hear the music play
Life is a cabaret, old chum
Come to the cabaret
Put down the knitting,
the book and the broom
It's time for a holiday
Life is a cabaret, old chum
So come to the cabaret
Come taste the wine
Come hear the band
Come blow your horn
Start celebrating right this way
Your table's waiting
What good's permitting some prophet of doom
To wipe every smile away
Life is a cabaret, old chum
So come to the cabaret
I used to have this girlfriend known as Elsie
With whom I shared four sordid rooms in Chelsea
She wasn't what you'd call a blushing flower
As a matter of fact she rented by the hour
The day she died the neighbors came to snicker
"Well, that's what comes from too much pills and liquor"
But when I saw her laid out like a Queen
She was the happiest corpse, I'd ever seen
I think of Elsie to this very day
I remember how she'd turn to me and say
"What good is sitting all alone in your room?
Come hear the music play
Life is a cabaret, old chum
Come to the cabaret
And as for me
And as for me
I made my mind up, back in Chelsea
When I go, I'm going like Elsie
Start by admitting from cradle to tomb
Isn't that long a stay
Life is a cabaret, old chum
It's only a cabaret, old chum
And I love a cabaret
God is love. But God is not a cabaret. But then the truths of this song are dead on.
The pain of life is evident in the above artists and yet if they all laid a hold of the Lord Jesus Christ and lost their lives for His sake, then they would have had much more in store, other than the worm that never ends.
As wise old Solomon hinted, the concept of eternity is not a thought that exists for no reason at all.
The body that is dead might look peaceful when the person has left, but as Jesus said, Do not fear those who can only kill the boy, rather fear him who can destroy both body and soul in hell.
Only we are spirits placed in the souls of bodies, so it is the knowledge that the spirit possesses that becomes the worm that never dies. Why? Why? Why, do people reject Jesus and then find out after death they have to face judgment?
