THE NEW TESTAMENT STATES THAT THE OLD TESTAMENT IS THE WORD OF GOD, YET MANY PEOPLE SAY THAT IT NO LONGER APPLIES TODAY, EVEN THOUGH EVERY WORD IS CLAIMED TO BE AUTHORITATIVE. Consequently, A Woman Asks How Can The Book Of Leviticus, The Third Of The Books Attributed To Moses, Has Relevance To The Claim Every Word Inspired By God Is Authoritative. No matter what a person accepts to be true, the rationale has to be justified by some form of logic; on the other hand, truth is self-explanatory.

Many quote the following to refer to the authority of the Bible and assert that it is the only guide by which people should live their lives: All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16–17). Unfortunately, they overlook the preceding two verses:
  • But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings which are able to instruct you for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. (2 Timothy 3:14-15)
Unless a person is instructed how to be saved through faith in the Son of God, Creator of the Universe, Lord Jesus Christ, there is no point in creating any doctrine based upon 2 Timothy 3:16. Whatever is done as a result becomes naught but filthy rags.
The book of Leviticus points to some very meaningful and powerful principles that are found in the study of economics. If one understands the concept of economic freedom in the Kingdom of God, one is beginning to grasp the significance of the concepts found within the book of Leviticus.
The book of Leviticus also points to prophetic events that have been played out already, and are about to be further played out in the coming two decades.
The book of Leviticus points to, most importantly, how the Son of God, Lord Jesus Christ, paid the ransom price and redeems the progeny of Adam and Eve.
The book of Leviticus explains the significance of living a holy life that is free from the frustrations of fractured relationships within a community of people, who otherwise would be seeking vendettas and avenging wrongs, real or otherwise.
The book of Leviticus also instructs the importance of healthy living; the value of sanitation and sewage laws; and how to live a disease free life.
The fact that the Scriptures are inspired by God is one matter when it comes to the prophets, but another when it comes to Moses; for he wrote down what he was shown by God. The Ten Commandments of Exodus chapter twenty, were written by God Himself—the only words recorded to have been written by Him.
One could say that the literal translation of 2 Timothy 3:16–17 best fits the book of Leviticus.
  • Every Writing God-breathed, and profitable for teaching, for conviction, for setting aright, for instruction that in righteousness, that the man of God may be fitted—for every good work having been completed. (2 Timothy 3:16-17 - Young's Literal Translation)
The book of Leviticus was not the work of a man, as the scoffers with Ignorant Quotients profess they can prove—even if the crickets can be heard in the deafening silence.
The book of Leviticus provides penetrating insights into salvific needs, psychological needs, sociological needs, health and dietary needs, and economic needs, for any who are prepared to take heed to what is instructed in the First Psalm.
