There are two ways of interpreting the Bible, so say some: exegesis or eisegesis. So first, by way of illustration, let’s use some “easygesis”, which someone sort of smart might do, using the King James Bible Only for our authority.
- In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. (1 Corinthians 15:52)
- For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: (1 Thessalonians 4:16)
When we read the King James Version of the Bible, which some people say is the only Living Word of God, we can see that Donald Trump’s demise will be the time the dead are raised. Or if not Donald, the last Trump—maybe Eric—will be announced as President and the dead will be raised.
Now what does “the dead will be raised” really mean?
Those dead democrats, who believed it was bad enough with the Donald, will get such a shock seeing that Eric has been appointed President that they will immediately come out of their graves and descend upon Washington’s White House.—Then Col. Gate will announce with a ring of confidence, what the Counterfeit News Network, ensnared by its own deceitfulness, once more, broadcasts to the world: “Woe to you hypocrites! for you are like whitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful {sparkling white teeth and all], but within are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness.” (cf. Matthew 23:27)
Rather than doing that form of easygesis, lets get a little more serious. For there is no mention of any rapture in respect to the sixth seal mentioned in the Book of Revelation. Only someone doing eisegesis would come up with such an idea that the rapture is identified in the text concerning the sixth seal in the book of Revelation, rather than seeking the truth of the matter.
That there is going to be a loud trumpet call at the end of the age when the Lord gathers His elect from the Earth is something that Jesus Himself said would happen.
- Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken; then will appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory; and he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. (Matthew 24:29-31)
- Jesus said to him, “You have said so. But I tell you, hereafter you will see the Son of man seated at the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.” (Matthew 26:64)
The Apostle Paul, who was given revelation beyond that of the Apostle Peter (2 Peter 3:14-16), clearly stated that at the last trumpet the dead will rise and those who are alive will be changed. The phrase “those who are alive” is a reference to those who are eagerly awaiting the return of Lord Jesus Christ in the clouds.
- Lo! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. (1 Corinthians 15:51-52)
- For this we declare to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, shall not precede those who have fallen asleep. (1 Thessalonians 4:15)
- For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the archangel’s call, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first; then we who are alive, who are left, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and so we shall always be with the Lord. (1 Thessalonians 4:15-17)
The Apostle John was given the Revelation of Lord Jesus Christ, which is a symbolic book that only those who understand the Scriptures are able to interpret, because Scripture interprets Scripture. Those who, in any way, use the “easygesis” method when applying their minds to hermeneutics, even though they may be designated as biblical scholars, miss the mark—which is a violation of the word of truth.
If people do not understand the Ten Commandments, the only words written by the Finger of God, then they are not going to interpret the Scriptures correctly. For the Ten Commandments are the plumb line (cf. Amos 7:7-9), the means by which paths are made straight and one’s thinking (cf. Romans 12:2) is aligned with the Spirit of God.
Note well, then, when the last trumpet call goes out according to what the Apostle John was shown:
- When the Lamb opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. Then I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them. (Revelation 8:1-2)
- In the days of the trumpet call to be sounded by the seventh angel, the mystery of God, as he announced to his servants the prophets, should be fulfilled. (Revelation 10:7)
- Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign for ever and ever.”
We clearly see that the last trumpet call is made when the seventh seal has been opened. The last trumpet is the seventh trumpet, which is to be blown by the seventh angel. We know also that the last trumpet call is when the dead are to be raised and those who are alive shall be caught up to meet Lord Jesus Christ in the clouds. What we do not see is any reference to the sixth seal, nor any reference to the Trumps—except in the King James Version.
The mystery of God, which the Apostle Paul even refers to as a mystery, is the resurrection of the saints: both those who are dead and those who are alive, who are going to be changed from possessing mortal bodies to immortal bodies in a twinkling of an eye.
