THE DESIRE FOR BEING HEALED FROM CANCER AND OTHER DISEASES AND AILMENTS CAN LEAD PEOPLE TO FAKE HEALERS WHO LIKE PHSYCIANS ARE KNOWN AS QUACKS. Quackery is not a term used to refer to the sound ducks make when they quack, quack, but is used for doctors who botch operations and make false prognostications based on faulty diagnoses of an ailment. So, why are farcical physicians and fake healers called quacks? Well if it quacks like a duck and demonstrates that it is a duck, it is a duck, except in this case the reference is to a healer being a fake and making fake claims, which means the healer is a fake.

If one asks the healer for healing, and then doesn’t get healed, is the healer then still the healer?

Much depends upon who it is that you are calling the healer. The book of wisdom informs us:

1. A bad messenger plu nges men into trouble, but a faithful envoy brings healing. (Proverbs 13:17)

A bad If you see a person who claims to be a healer that is a psychic, understand, many people are healed when a psychic gets lucky and a demon leaves the person seeking help.

In fact, many people are healed when they believe they are healed, irrespective of who is performing the voodoo or whatever the abracadabra might be.

Once I heard a surfer telling a Seventh Day Adventist that he had a serious cold and went surfing in the freezing Antarctic Ocean water off the coast of Australia. After he spent time catching a number of waves, he no longer had the cold. He concluded that the energy he exerted rejuvenated his immune system sufficiently to overcome the virus.

Another view proffered by a non-Adventist was the person was actually experiencing the value of homeopathy; by ingesting small amounts of cold Antarctic Ocean water to remedy the cold virus.

However, Jesus said to many people that if they had the faith to believe they were healed, then they would be healed. When Jesus was walking around Palestine, people were being healed for different reasons, even though it was their own faith that made many of them well.

• And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace, and be healed of your disease.” (Mark 5:34)
• And Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed him on the way. (Mark 10:52)

Faith without works is dead. This principle is elaborated upon in the book of James.

• Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he offered his son Isaac upon the altar? You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by works, and the scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness”; and he was called the friend of God. You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone. And in the same way was not also Rahab the harlot justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way? For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so faith apart from works is dead. (James 2:21-26)

Therefore when people act upon the faith they possess in the words of Jesus, they are made well. This is illustrated in the account of the ten lepers.

• And as he entered a village, he was met by ten lepers, who stood at a distance and lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.” When he saw them he said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went they were cleansed. Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice; and he fell on his face at Jesus’ feet, giving him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan. Then said Jesus, “Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine? Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?” (Luke 17:12-18)

The Apostle Paul was in Lystra and observed that a person possessed faith and because of this would be healed.

• Now at Lystra there was a man sitting, who could not use his feet; he was a cripple from birth, who had never walked. He listened to Paul speaking; and Paul, looking intently at him and seeing that he had faith to be made well, said in a loud voice, “Stand upright on your feet.” And he sprang up and walked. (Acts 14:8-10)

The importance of people possessing faith is often disputed by people who teach the doctrines of TULIP. You will here these religionists pray prayers of unbelief along the lines of:

Dear God, we know that we are such evil people and our hearts are so deceptive, that we are not worthy of you. We understand that you look upon us with such contempt because we are so wicked and can never do any good in your eyes. Our thoughts are not your thoughts. Our ways are not your ways. But if it is your will, we will pray that Mary will be healed by the doctor on Monday morning when she attends the rooms at the clinic. We ask that you guide the doctor to give her sound advice and provide the appropriate pills that will assist her constitution so that she no longer suffers from constipation and can have a good purge.—They are pathetic!

According to Jesus, one girl was made well because of the faith that her mother possessed in respect to her obtaining her healing.

• Then Jesus answered her, “O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed instantly. (Matthew 15:28)

We might wonder how it is that the girl was healed according to the faith of her mother. The answer is found in the Epistle of First John, when the apostle instructs how healing is effected.

• I write this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life. And this is the confidence which we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have obtained the requests made of him. (1 John 5:13-15)

The woman, whose daughter was healed, understood that Jesus had heard her request and believe that because of this, the girl would be healed. We do not have the physical presence of Jesus in our midst, but this does not mean we cannot be heard by Him. Therefore, we pray as Jesus taught us to pray until we are absolutely assured that we have been heard by Him. When we do this, we will be healed.

Other reasons people do not get healed is people eat unhealthy food.

Unforgiveness and unconfessed acts of sin are also barriers to divine healing.

Doubt, of course, is the biggest difficulty we have to overcome. One moment—one split second—of doubt within one’s heart and then one’s faith is incomplete and thereby insufficient.

Many do not get healed because of subconscious and unconscious unbelief.

Some people surprisingly seem like conscious doubters but unconsciously, within their inner person, they possess faith and they are healed.

Healing Is Said To Be The Children’s Bread, Because They Do Not Doubt

When you speak of an accurate prophetic minister, I am not sure whether you mean any one who is able to interpret the Scriptures correctly and who understands the prophecies in the Bible, or someone who makes accurate prophecies that never fall to the ground.

• First of all you must understand this, that no prophecy of scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation, because no prophecy ever came by the impulse of man, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God. (2 Peter 1:20-21)
• And Samuel grew, and the Lord was with him and let none of his words fall to the ground. (1 Samuel 3:19)
• The word of the Lord came to me: “Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel, prophesy[a] and say to those who prophesy out of their own minds: ‘Hear the word of the Lord!’ Thus says the Lord God, Woe to the foolish prophets who follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing! Your prophets have been like foxes among ruins, O Israel. You have not gone up into the breaches, or built up a wall for the house of Israel, that it might stand in battle in the day of the Lord. They have spoken falsehood and divined a lie; they say, ‘Says the Lord,’ when the Lord has not sent them, and yet they expect him to fulfil their word. Have you not seen a delusive vision, and uttered a lying divination, whenever you have said, ‘Says the Lord,’ although I have not spoken?” (Ezekiel 13:1-7)
• Let no one disqualify you, insisting on self-abasement and worship of angels, taking his stand on visions,puffed up without reason by his sensuous mind. (Colossians 2:18)

The Apostle Peter informs us that the Bible has to be interpreted not by one’s own mind, which means that a person really needs Scripture to interpret Scripture. This is why so many people interpret the Bible incorrectly and make false predictions or, if you like, prophecies.

If a person is truly accurate, like the prophet Samuel, who walked with God, what they say will come to pass. The Lord overthrows the words of the faithless and unbelieving. (For instance, atheists claiming that they bring love and peace—Stalin,Mao, etc—but are filled with malice and vitriol for those who point out the meaningless of their words and life if it is not eternal). For without faith that is genuine, there is no fruit that brings glory to God.

• The eyes of the Lord keep watch over knowledge, but he overthrows the words of the faithless. (Proverbs 22:12)

Many people prophesy what they see in their own mind and claim that this is from God. But they do not walk close enough with God to receive prophecies in the first place. Mind you, there are those who, like Balaam, are capable of hearing from God, but then they go on to do evil.

• Forsaking the right way they have gone astray; they have followed the way of Balaam, the son of Be′or, who loved gain from wrongdoing. (2 Peter 2:15)

There are many “ministries” (demon-nations or is it denominations) of which I know that are off the mark.

When it comes to someone who is accurate as a prophet, like Samuel, I have heard of quite a number of people who have never had a prophecy fail—but the reason this is because they do not prophecy.

Sometimes people get a word from the Lord, but then they add to the word or reinterpret that word according to their own sensuous mind, and what they say becomes merely a test to see whether people want the truth or not.

• And if you say in your heart, ‘How may we know the word which the Lord has not spoken?’— when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word which the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously, you need not be afraid of him.(Deuteronomy 18:21-22)

Many people take comfort in the fact the “ministries” that they listen to, who claim to be prophetic, have prophecies that do not come to pass. This means they do not have to really come clean and they seem to think God does not see their sin and hold them accountable.

Come to think of it, I do know a person who has had prophecy come to pass and many churches do not like him, because he preaches repentance and exercising faith towards God, because he interprets Scripture with Scripture. To the astonishment of many, God requires everyone to exercise faith after they have repented from their dead works.

The Way To Walk With God Is To Understand The Milk Of The Word

THE BIBLE DISCRIMINATES AGAINST EVIL BECAUSE WHAT IS GOOD BRINGS BLESSING AND ABUNDANT LIFE. Why do Episcopalians support gay marriage and welcome gay priests?

From my understanding of the Episcopalian Church it was founded originally on the whims of Henry VIII. From what we learn of King Henry VIII, we can understand why there might be an underlying spirit of rejection of truth and the moral code written by God’s very Finger.

Evidently, among other things, Henry VIII, king of England married six times, beheaded two of his wives, and in 1534, Henry VIII declared himself supreme head of the Church of England. [1]

Any rejection of Rome as a bona fide representation of the Lord Jesus Christ is understandable. Tony Perrottet wrote after investigating the Roman Catholic Church’s popes, so many Vicars of Christ have been denounced as the “Worst Pope Ever” that we have to settle for a Top Ten list.[2]

Actually, TONY PERROTTET wrote an article entitled the THE VATICAN HALL OF SHAME after sourcing material from Duffy, Eamon, Saints and Sinners: A History of the Popes, (Yale, 2002); and De Rosa, Peter, Vicars of Christ: the Dark Side of the Papacy (New York, 1988). The following is what he stated regarding not a Henry VIII but Boniface VIII:

After massacring the entire population in the Italian town of Palestrina, Boniface VIII (1294-1303) indulged in ménages with a married woman and her daughter and became renowned through Rome as a shameless pedophile. He famously declared that having sex with young boys was no more a sin than rubbing one hand against the other — which should make him the patron saint of Boston priests today. The poet Dante reserved a place for him in the eighth circle of Hell.

Calvin murdered some 76 people according to one investigator claiming that John Calvin justified killing his theological opponents with the Bible:

In 5 years as magistrate of the Geneva “church-city-state,” Calvin oversaw 58 death sentences and the exile of 76 people. He wasn't the sole decision-maker in those cases, but personal correspondence and city council records betray his extraordinary influence. When Jacques Gruet, a theologian with differing views, placed a letter in Calvin’s pulpit calling him a hypocrite, he was arrested, tortured for a month and beheaded on July 26, 1547. Gruet's own theological book was later found and burned along with his house while his wife was thrown out into the street to watch. [3]

When we consider that the Episcopalian Church is really the same church that was founded by King Henry VIII and hs based its teachings on John Calvin’s (Westminster Confession), one can understand the church’s disregard for the Bible’s teachings. Many people say that this was the spirit of the times. Really?

Evidently, the spirit of the times, today, is to reject the teachings of the Apostles and the Prophets

• This is now the second letter that I have written to you, beloved, and in both of them I have aroused your sincere mind by way of reminder; that you should remember the predictions of the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior through your apostles. First of all you must understand this, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own passions. ( 2 Peter 3:1-3)

There are many observations that bring their own judgment (Romans 1:22-32) and nothing more need to be said really.

Further reflection leads me to think of matters such as foul odors, overpowering fragrances, drafts, humidity, cold, people behind me talking when a person on the stage is speaking, boisterous buffoons who yell out inappropriately with chilling effect and a range of other incessant inconveniences—but wait, that was in a theater—just joking.

On a more serious note, the one thing that bores me the most when I am attending a church service is any speaker who is long-winded or not speaking in the conviction and power of the Holy Spirit.

• for our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction. You know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake. ( 1 Thessalonians 1:5)

Those who speak an unelectrifying and unedifying gospel message without power, or not in the Holy Spirit, or not with full conviction, are like those who use flattery as a cloak for greed.

Then there are those who speak visions of their own mind and claim that they are speaking from the spirit of God, when they are not.

Congregations that have no testimonies to the glory of God are like visiting the morgue—which contributes to a lack of satisfaction and enjoyment and a cause for grieving a person’s spirit.

There are numerous churches that I have been in where the singing is like a funeral dirge rather than a joyful celebration. Instead of an all consuming time of communal praise and worship in song, too many congregations have three short hymns, or supposed spiritual songs, that are usually mumbled, as the congregants appear to grumble about having to attend—which causes a sense of grieving within my spirit.

The celebration of communion ought to be something meaningful, with the expectation that when people come together, Lord Jesus Christ is manifest in the midst of the congregation, rather than an apparently meaningless symbolic rite that is rushed through at the end of the service, if not before—another source of being grieved of spirit.

People who spout church dogma or anything that is not straight out of the Scriptures and demonstrate a lack insight are another source of grief, when having to wait until they are finished—the pain of it all: it is like attending a meeting of atheists seeking meaning in life, when they know they have none, if they are born only to die.

When the presence of God is strong, and the preaching is hot, fresh, insightful, relevant and inspiring, why wouldn’t a person enjoy that part of a church meeting. How much more when there is a congregation that delights in testimony, worship in song, celebrating the Lord’s Supper with reverence, with delight that they are in one accord. When the goodness of God’s blessing is lacking, the commensurate enjoyment is lacking

When reading the Bible, a person may be appalled by many of the acts that are recorded in its pages. Obviously the writers of the Bible were not seeking to stooge people but challenge readers to assess their own values. The many accounts of slaying people and animals are reprehensible to the modern civilized mind. The many accounts of sexual abuse and disrespectful treatment of women are reprehensible. However, the fact that people are born to suffer and die, a state of being that constitutes an appalling existence, is a salient point that also permeates the pages of the Bible.

Many like to point their finger at the Creator of the Universe, who wrote the Ten Commandments with His Own Finger, and accuse Him of evil.

• And the Lord gave me the two tables of stone written with the finger of God; and on them were all the words which the Lordhad spoken with you on the mountain out of the midst of the fire on the day of the assembly. (Deuteronomy 9:10)

The Ten Commandments demand that people conduct themselves in ways lives that honor each other and acknowledge that they need to have a relationship with the Creator. For many people, what is appalling is the fact that God does not enjoy the death of the wicked. People, who commit the heinous acts that appall many today, are offered the opportunity of repentance and the right to enjoy eternal life, rather than eternal punishment.

• Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, says the Lord God, and not rather that he should turn from his way and live? (Ezekiel 18:23)

To provide some context as to how people delight in pointing to some of the examples published in the Bible—which they otherwise would not know about if it were not a true record—consider what has been happening in the atheist regime of North Korea.

Things appear to be changing in North Korea, but a look at what has been happening (and probably still could be) provides some insight of the anguish, torture and pain that people have to endure.

Dear Reader, people are appalled when they understand fully what occurs in North Korea. Even more so, when these same individuals realize that our Heavenly Father is willing to forgive even the evil North Koreans (including Kim Jong-un) and what they do in that country—including many acts of women and men (boys and girls) being raped and murdered, even cut into pieces after being excruciatingly tortured.

The “Ten Principles for the Establishment of the One-Ideology System” are regulations that govern the everyday lives of the North Korean people. They were officially announced by Kim Jong Il in 1974. The original Ten Principles, to which the name “General Kim Jong Il” has now been added, are as follows:

1. We must give our all in the struggle to unify the entire society with the revolutionary ideology of Great Leader Kim Il Sung.

2. We must honor Great Leader comrade Kim Il Sung with all our loyalty.

3. We must make absolute the authority of Great Leader comrade Kim Il Sung.

4. We must make Great Leader comrade Kim Il Sung’s revolutionary ideology our faith and make his instructions our creed.

Are the "Ten Commandments" binding on true Christians?

Not sure what your implications are with the term “binding”. But if, by binding, you mean essential for Christians to uphold, then according to the New Testament, if we are honest, we would have to admit what is written in its pages is for our benefit.

Jesus said that those who would enter life had to keep the commandments. We also learn that Elizabeth and Zecharias, the parents of John The Baptist, kept the commandments and were blameless. We further learn that keeping the commandments is a theme that was promulgated by the Apostles Paul and John. We also learn that the commandments—that is, the Ten Commandments—would remain until Heaven or Earth would be destroyed, even though Jesus came to fulfill them. Moreover, we learn that those very commandments are fulfilled in us, if we walk in the Spirit of God.

And he [Jesus] said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. (Matthew 19:17)

And when he [Jesus] was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (Romans 8:3-4)

Many people talk about being under some law of grace and, because of this, there is no need to keep the commandments of God, or uphold the commandments. Such teaching is contrary to what the New Testament teaches. If a person is genuinely walking with God, that person has eternal salvation and thereby will keep the commandments, which include

1. not committing adultery,
2. not committing murder,
3. not stealing,
4. not bearing false witness,
5. Honour one’s father and mother,
6. not taking God’s name in vain,
7. not bowing before images of anything whether in Heaven or on Earth,
8. entering God’s rest,
9. obeying God’s voice,
10. and not coveting anything belonging to one’s neighbor.

Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 5:19-20)

The problem for most people is they have little understanding of some basic knowledge when it comes to what is required to enjoy and appreciate life that, instead of having what they could have, they violate the commandments on a daily basis.

When all said and done, I suppose God’s commandments, that He took the trouble to write Himself, are binding on every human being. Those who accept that Lord Jesus Christ has taken the punishment for violating these commandments upon Himself and left an inheritance for all of us to receive by faith, so that the Ten Commandments might be fulfilled in us, uphold the commandments because they now possess eternal life.

Those who say they have eternal life and do not keep the commandments, according to 1 John 2:4 are liars and the truth is not in them.

So how do we obtain salvation? By desiring the inheritance that is ours,repenting from our dead works and exercising faith in Lord Jesus Christ, so we can be baptized in the Holy Spirit. Once having received the Holy Spirit, we are now able to keep the commandments.

Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith. Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish [uphold] the law. (Romans 3:30-31)

Evidently, many people seem to overlook that Romans 3:30–31 is written in the Bible—along with many other Scriptures.

Pick and choose and/or mix and match are common practices. At school, children are taught that picking and choosing and mixing and matching is being creative. Playing around with colors in the classroom is one thing; being creative, when seeking the truth, results in people being misinformed and easily deceived.

Yet even the updated versions of the King James Version of the Bible still require a person to be a perceptive wordsmith, with an eye for etymological understandings of words, to grasp the finer points of what is being conveyed when using King James’ Bible.

Why do modern translations of the Bible sound so unsatisfactory to me when I read them, but the King James Version of the Bible flows?

Oddly enough, the King James Version turned me away from seeking God, yet you claim that it flows. I found the King James Version so difficult to read that I thought it had to be a waste of time. Yet when I read the version know as “The Living Bible”, I found that this had a natural flow to it and made sense.

Reading the King James Version of the Bible is like reading a series of points, with its artificial chapters and verses inserted as separate points. How can anybody say that it flows? The version in no way flows as easily as The Living Bible. The King James Version below has twelve points:

What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found?

2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.

3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.

4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.

5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,

7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.

8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

9 Cometh this blessedness then upon the circumcision only, or upon the uncircumcision also? for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness.

10 How was it then reckoned? when he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision.

Now compare the King James Version above with The Living Bible below.

Abraham was, humanly speaking, the founder of our Jewish nation. What were his experiences concerning this question of being saved by faith? Was it because of his good deeds that God accepted him? If so, then he would have something to boast about. But from God’s point of view Abraham had no basis at all for pride. 3 For the Scriptures tell us Abraham believed God, and that is why God canceled his sins and declared him “not guilty.”

4-5 But didn’t he earn his right to heaven by all the good things he did? No, for being saved is a gift; if a person could earn it by being good, then it wouldn’t be free—but it is! It is given to those who do not work for it. For God declares sinners to be good in his sight if they have faith in Christ to save them from God’s wrath.

6 King David spoke of this, describing the happiness of an undeserving sinner who is declared “not guilty” by God. 7 “Blessed and to be envied,” he said, “are those whose sins are forgiven and put out of sight. 8 Yes, what joy there is for anyone whose sins are no longer counted against him by the Lord.

9 Now then, the question: Is this blessing given only to those who have faith in Christ but also keep the Jewish laws, or is the blessing also given to those who do not keep the Jewish rules but only trust in Christ? Well, what about Abraham? We say that he received these blessings through his faith. Was it by faith alone, or because he also kept the Jewish rules?

10 For the answer to that question, answer this one: When did God give this blessing to Abraham? It was before he became a Jew—before he went through the Jewish initiation ceremony of circumcision.

11 It wasn’t until later on, after God had promised to bless him because of his faith,that he was circumcised. The circumcision ceremony was a sign that Abraham already had faith and that God had already accepted him and declared him just and good in his sight—before the ceremony took place. We see, then, that those who do not keep these rules are justified by God through faith. 12 And Abraham is also the spiritual father of those Jews who have been circumcised. Shakespearean language is okay for poetry, maybe, but I am told that it does not translate so well into Chinese or Hindi or Arabic. What this means is that in the final analysis, what really counts is knowing the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ in person.
