Muhammad was not a very well informed theologian when he wrote the Koran. Yes, we know, Muslims will tell us that Muhammad didn't write the Qur'an. After all that way they can blame Allah for the errors and their prophet remains sinless and blameless!

Mohammed mistakenly thought that Mary was the third member of the Christian trinity.

Introduction:

1. When Mohammed first cleansed the Kaaba of the 360 pagan idols, both Jesus and the mother of Mary were worshiped as deities. The Koran strongly denies that Jesus or the mother of Mary are to be worshiped. What is interesting is that the Koran actually represents Christians as worshiping Mary as the third member of the Trinity in Koran 5:116.

A. Here is what the Koran says:

"O People of the Book! Commit no excesses in your religion: Nor say of God aught but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) an apostle of God, and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and a spirit proceeding from Him: so believe in God and His apostles. Say not "Trinity" : desist: it will be better for you: for God is one God: Glory be to Him: (far exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belong all things in the heavens and on earth. And enough is God as a Disposer of affairs." (Koran 4:171)

"They do blaspheme who say: God is one of three in a Trinity: for there is no god except One God. If they desist not from their word (of blasphemy), verily a grievous penalty will befall the blasphemers among them." (Koran 5:73)

B. Here is what Muslim scholars say:

1. "Allah will say, "O Jesus, son of Mary, did you say to the people, `Make me and my mother idols beside Allah?' Yusuf Ali, in footnote 829 commenting on this verse says, "The worship of Mary, though repudiated by the Protestants, was widely spread in the earlier Churches, both in the East and the West." (The holy Qur'an, text, translation and commentary by Abdullah Yusuf Ali. 1872-1952, First published in 1938, 1973 ed., p. 280, footnote 829, commenting on 5:116)

C. Here is what non-Muslim scholars say about this error in the Koran:

1. The Qur'an shows that there was little knowledge in Mecca of the New Testament apart from the story of the virginal conception of Jesus (19.16-21). On the other hand several mistaken ideas about Christianity appear to have been current among the Meccans. They supposed that Christians worshipped three gods, taking both Jesus and Mary as gods. (Muhammad's Mecca, W. Montgomery Watt, Chapter 3: Religion In Pre-Islamic Arabia, p26-45)
1. "The Qur'an here denounces the idea of a Triad of Gods, consisting of God, Jesus and Mary. Christians have never believed in this Triad. It is only too true that many ignorant "Christians" in Muhammad's time worshipped Mary (as some still do), asking her to intercede with her Son for them, and the early Muhammadans may hence have fancied that belief in three separate Gods, of which Mary was one, was what was meant by the doctrine of the Trinity. But such an idea was wrong and of heathen origin." (A Manual of the Leading Muhammadan Objections to Christianity. W. St. Clair Tisdall, 1904, p 147)
2. These passages leave no doubt that Mohammed denied the doctrine of the Trinity and that he conceived it to be, or affirmed it to be, a species of tritheism consisting of God, Mary and Jesus Christ. [Whether Mohammed had a correct idea of the Trinity and deliberately put forth this travesty of the Christian idea, we will consider later.] The commentaries interpret the Koran as follows: Zamakhshari on 4:169 remarks, "The story received among Christians is that God is one in essence and three persons, (akanim) the person of the Father, the person of the Son and the person of the Holy Spirit. And they verily mean by the person of the Father, the Being, and by the person of the Son, knowledge, and by the person of the Holy Spirit, life. And this supposes that God is the third of three, or, if not, that there are three gods. And that which the Koran here refers to is the clear statement of theirs, that God and Christ and Mary are three gods and that the Christ is a child (walad) of God from Mary." For proof he then quotes Surah 5:116, and adds: "And it is universally known concerning Christians that they hold the deity and humanity of Christ as regards his father and mother." From this it is evident that Zamakhshari had a more correct idea of the doctrine of the Trinity than did Mohammed and that after offering a modal trinity as the creed of Christians he covers up the Koran mistake by asserting, without proof, that the trinity was a triad of Father, Son and Mother. (Vol. I. of the Kishaf, p. 241.) Beidhawi (on 4:169) remarks: "Jesus is called the Spirit of God because He makes the dead to live or quickens hearts." On the following verse he is doubtful; "Either God is the third of three gods or is a triad of Father, Son and Holy Spirit." (Vol. I., p. 319.) He, too, avoids a real explanation of the gross misstatement in the Koran that Mary is one of the persons of the Trinity. The Jilalain (Vol. I., p. 278) prove that Jesus cannot be God, "because He has a spirit and everything possessed of a spirit is compounded (murakkib and God is absolutely without compounding, arrangement (tarkib), i.e., simple." He says the Trinity consists of "Allah and Jesus and His mother." (The Moslem Doctrine Of God, Samuel M. Zwemer, 1905, p 80)
3. It is interesting to note that the charges against Christians of looking upon the Virgin Mary as the third person of the Trinity is made in the last of all the Suras:- O Jesus, Son of Mary, hast thou said unto mankind 'Take me and my mother as two Gods beside God? ' He shall say: 'Glory be unto Thee! it is not for me to say that which I know to be not the truth.' Sura Al-Ma'idah (v) 116. Whether Muhammad knew better or not is uncertain, but, however that may be, this is his parting accusation. He could have ascertained the true facts of the case, for on Christian monuments found by Dr. B. Glaser in Yemen, the Sirwah inscription opens with the words, 'In the power of the all-Merciful and His Messiah and the Holy Ghost.' (Zwemer, Islam, p. 21.) To say the least, Muhammad here made a serious mistake, which it is difficult to reconcile with the verbal inspiration of the Qur'an. D. The Collyridians: A heretic sect in Arabia!

"There was in Arabia in the fourth century a sect of fanatical women called Collyridians (), who rendered divine worship to Mary. Epiphanius, Haer. 79." (Philip Schaff, History of the Christian church, Vol 4, Ch 3)

1. "Epiphanius, in his seventy-eighth Heresy, combats the advocates of the opposite view in Arabia toward the end of the fourth century (367), as heretics under the title of Antidikomarianites, opposers of the dignity of Mary, i.e., of her perpetual virginity. But, on the other hand, he condemns, in the seventy-ninth Heresy, the contemporaneous sect of the Collyridians in Arabia, a set of fanatical women, who, as priestesses, rendered divine worship to Mary, and, perhaps in imitation of the worship of Ceres, offered little cakes to her; he claims adoration for God and Christ alone. Jerome wrote, about 383, with indignation and bitterness against Helvidius and Jovinian, who, citing Scripture passages and earlier church teachers, like Tertullian, maintained that Mary bore children to Joseph after the birth of Christ. (Philip Schaff, History of the Christian church, Vol 3, Ch 7)
2. "Kollyridians or Collyridians were adorers of Mary in the 4th century Arabia, as Epiphanius mentioned in his writing against heretics (see: Haer. 78, 23; 79). He coined the expression Collyridians which has the meaning of "cake-eater-sect". Leontius of Byzance had a different name for them. He called them "Philomarianites", meaning Mary-lovers (PG 87, 1364). The priestesses of this sect used to present Our Lady with cakes or a special kind of bread (kolluris) intended as offerings as was the custom in pre-Christian times. This sect, mainly consisting of women or at least led by woman priests, propagated what amounts to a Goddess cult regarding Our Lady. Epiphanius had this warning on their behalf: "Although Mary is the most beautiful and holy and worthy of praise, we don't owe her adoration" (Haer. 79, 7, PG 42, 752). In a different passage Epiphanius uses even stronger words: "Adoration must cease. For Mary is no goddess nor has she received her body from heaven. (oute gar theos hae Maria oute ap'ouranou exousa to soma)" (Haer. 78, 24). Collyridians are also known and mentioned by John Damascene (PG 94, 728)." 3. Collyridlans. Under this name Epiphanius (Haer. 79) assails certain women who had brought from Thrace into Arabia the practice of performing on certain days rites in honour of the Blessed Virgin, the chief being the offering of a cake, and the partaking of it by the worshippers. Epiphanius condemns their conduct because (a) women ought not to offer sacrifice, and (b) Mary is to be honoured, God only to be worshipped. The name Collyris (or kindred forms) is to be found in the LXX translation of Lev. vii. 12, viii. 26 ; 2 Sam. vi. rg, xiii. 68 ; and the word passed thence into the Latin versions. Conclusion:

1. There is no way for Muslims today to escape the fact that the Koran indeed contains a major theological blunder. If the Koran was really written by God, as Muhammad claimed, then the worship of Mary would have been condemned, but she would never have been connected with the trinity.
2. Modern Muslim apologists cannot explain away this problem because we have documented above, many earlier Muslims commentators indeed admitted the Koran viewed Mary as part of the trinity. Suggesting this is not the case, is another example of Muslims both rewriting their own history, as well as ignoring the universal facts of history. But what would you expect from a religion founded upon myths.
3. Muslims worshipped Mary as one of 360 pagan gods in the Kabah. The heretic sect known as Collyridlans, worshipped Mary as God. Many Christians in the age referred to Mary as, "mother of God" which led Muhammad to conclude she was a god herself.
4. Mary was never considered part of the trinity and such a teaching represented a small heretic sect in Arabia.
5. While today, Roman Catholic and Orthodox churches outright worship Mary, pray to her, praise her and call her "Mother of God", such was not the case during the time of Muhammad. Even so, Roman Catholics and Orthodox would violently oppose any idea that Mary, although they worship her, is part of the Trinity in any way. They have never defined trinity as anything but consisting of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
6. Muhammad wrote the Koran and formed his beliefs based upon his local environment to which he was exposed. The fact that historically, trinity has always been defined as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (extracted from Interactive Bible website ) [1]

The nation of Israel formed part of the plan to bring about the conditions for Jesus to become the sacrificial offering to ransom what Adam, the first man, had lost. This plan is something that has been prophesied in the Bible. This prophetic element sets the Bible apart from other writings around the world. A fact testified by Israel being a nation today in fulfillment of prophesy for the return of Lord Jesus Christ.

Unlike the other nations, God created Israel when He delivered the people from slavery. Everything that happened to the people of Israel when being taken out of Egypt, and much of what was provided in the law, bore witness to the coming Savior. This is evidenced in such events as the eating of the Passover Lamb and the Crossing of the Red Sea. It is evidenced in the feasts that Israel was instructed to keep and the sacrificial offerings that were to practiced for the forgiveness of sins. The Ten Commandments also bear witness to Lord Jesus Christ. Once one understands this, one can understand why a nation was created under special circumstances to bring about the purpose of God.

An analogy could be the building of a special purpose vehicle to do a particular job rather than using something that was not suitable for the the purpose required. For instance, building a petrol tanker for carrying petrol rather than attempting to use a cattle truck with a few extra boards placed around the trailer. Or building a luxury liner for people to enjoy a holiday at sea rather than using a container ship decked out with hammocks. Or building a submarine to go underwater rather than putting a hole in a ship's hull and anticipating forward travel under water rather than downward.

The reason why Jesus chose to become a Jew is Israel was designed to be the nation for this purpose. More to the point, Judah was to be the tribe of which the woman would be born who was to carry the fetus into which the Son of God would enter at birth. As the New Testament states when quoting the prophecy in Psalm 40 from Septuagint:

• Consequently, when Christ came into the world, he said, “Sacrifices and offerings thou hast not desired, but a body hast thou prepared for me; (Hebrews 10:5)

The divine plan to redeem mankind from the evil that came into existence, which plagues the Earth, and demonstrate the righteousness of the One and Only Immortal God for eternity, in having given men and women freewill, required more foresight than what any human could ever imagine. Impossible for people who think they are knowledgeable, when what they think they know would not make up a library of comics, let alone to be able to number the hairs on the heads of the current global population. But not impossible for the omniscient Creator to do. This is why the Savior of the world became a son of Judah. The kingdom of Judah was part of the nation which God created and predicted would survive until the time was right for the Son of God to appear as a human. Indeed, we read:

• While we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. (Romans 5:6)

Jesus of Nazareth was all part of the plan to redeem men and women from sin and its consequences. Just as Israel today is part of the plan to bring glory to God at the return of Lord Jesus Christ.

However, when Lord Jesus returns, to use a worldly idiom, he will judge the losers and bless the winners. Or as the Bible states regarding those that are eagerly waiting for Him, they will enjoy His favor, but those who take the mark of the beast will reap the consequences of their decision to reject the truth and join up with the Evil One.

I cannot speak for Muhammad or Buddha, personally. I know Lord Jesus Christ and I can tell you about my experiences since I have met Him (a few are found here). Instead, I will point to what the Bible states regarding Jesus.

In a telling example, the tax collectors sought to collect tax from Jesus, and Peter was taught an important lesson. One that is worthy also of our thinking.

• When they had come to Capernaum, those who collected the didrachma coins came to Peter, and said, “Doesn’t your teacher pay the didrachma?” He said, “Yes.”When he came into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth receive toll or tribute? From their children, or from strangers?” Peter said to him, “From strangers.” Jesus said to him, “Therefore the children are exempt. (Matthew 17:24-26)

People who are in power look after their own children but they exact taxes and tribute from those they do not know—strangers.

Interestingly, Jesus did not seek to tax any who disagreed with his views. Jesus did not introduce a tax such as the jizyah (a per capita yearly tax historically levied by Islamic states on certain non-Muslim subjects—dhimmis—permanently residing in Muslim lands under Islamic law [1] ). The Romans had a tax that had to be paid by the inhabitants of the land. And Caesar may have presented as if he was God or a god or even as God’s spokesman. But Caesar was not the Son of God, who was God Himself in human form.

• [Jesus] existing in the form of God, didn’t consider equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to death, yes, the death of the cross. (Philippians 2:6–8)

Strangers are unknown individuals. However, when it come to Lord Jesus Christ, everybody is known by Him. This is because He is the One who searches the hearts of every person to see whether they are genuine when they call upon Him. Before He came to Earth, the Son of God searched the hearts of every person that lived. Now that the Son of God is resurrected from the dead (Romans 1:4), He still searches everyone’s hearts to see whether each one is genuine.

• Let us therefore give diligence to enter into that rest, lest anyone fall after the same example of disobedience. For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart. There is no creature that is hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of Him to Whom we must give an account. (Hebrews 4:11–13)
• You, Solomon my son, know the God of your father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind; for The Lord searches all hearts, and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever. (1 Chronicles 28:9)
• He who searches the hearts knows what is on the Spirit’s mind, because He makes intercession for the saints according to God . (Romans 8:27)
• I will kill her children with Death, and all the assemblies will know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. I will give to each one of you according to your deeds. (Revelation 2:23)

Clearly, no one is a stranger in that he or she is unknown by Lord Jesus Christ, for the very thoughts and intentions of each one’s heart is laid bare before Him. This does not mean that God is hard to please or that people have to perform works to please Him.

C.S. Lewis wrote in Mere Christianity:

• As a great Christian writer (George MacDonald) pointed out, every father is pleased at the baby’s first attempt to walk: no father would be satisfied with anything less than a firm, free, manly walk in a grown-up son. In the same way, he said, “God is easy to please, but hard to satisfy.”

From what I have read and understand of Islam, those who do not convert. who become dhimmis, have to pay a tax. They are strangers to Islam.

What I understand of the Buddha is that he would not want to place an imposition on any person and would advise people that the best thing to do is to avoid suffering.

What I understand of Lord Jesus Christ is that if we are genuine in seeking entrance to the Kingdom of God, He will welcome us and empower us to have the faith to believe that God can do the impossible. In my case, that was to change me from a contemptible scumbag into a person who desires the best for other people, in that they might discover the joy that I have been given. On the one hand, Jesus is easy to please, for all we have to do is forgive others for what they have done to us, but in order to satisfy Him, we need to be genuine in allowing Him to work His wonders in our lives.

As for how Muhammad or Buddha or Lord Jesus would introduce themselves to strangers, I do not know really. But many are going to be very pleased on that day when Jesus said that when they did good to the least of the weak, the sick, and those who are imprisoned, they did it to Him, even though He was a stranger to them. However, because Jesus is able to evaluate the hearts of everyone, those people who cared for the suffering and unfortunate are not strangers to Him (Matthew 25.31-44).

THREE PEOPLE THROWN INTO A FURNACE RAGING WITH FIRE AND THEY DO NOT BURN. This Seems To Be Science Fiction Because The Science Behind The Rescue Is Not Known. What is known about such an event occurring during the Babylonian Captivity of Israel is found in the book of Daniel.

Where was Daniel when Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were thrown into the burning fiery furnace?

One possibility is that Daniel had advanced knowledge of secret arts and was able to rescue Shadrach, Meashack and Abednego from the furnace. Somebody definitely appeared in the furnace and rescued them. For we read:

• He answered, Look, I see four men loose, walking in the middle of the fire, and they are unharmed; and the aspect of the fourth is like a son of the gods. Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace: he spoke and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, you servants of the Most High God, come out, and come here. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego came out of the middle of the fire. The satraps, the deputies, and the governors, and the king’s counselors, being gathered together, saw these men, that the fire had no power on their bodies, nor was the hair of their head singed, neither were their pants changed, nor had the smell of fire passed on them. Nebuchadnezzar spoke and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who has sent his angel, and delivered his servants who trusted in him, and have changed the king’s word, and have yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God. (Daniel 3:25–28)

Some might even think that the angel was Daniel because all things are possible for those who believe in God.

• Jesus, looking at them, said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God, for all things are possible with God. (Mark 10:27)
• Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” (Mark 9.23) 

In all probability, Daniel would have been praying on behalf of his friends, if he knew that they had been thrown into the fire. Daniel may not have had sufficient faith to believe that he could walk into the furnace and rescue his friends. Nevertheless, if Daniel knew about his friends being thrown into the fiery furnace, there is no doubt that he would believe that God would intervene, if He so desired to glorify His name. Since God’s promises do not change (Malachi 3:6), and He honors those who honor Him  (1 Samuel 2:30), Daniel’s prayer would have been answered.

• Behold, a hand touched me, which set me on my knees and on the palms of my hands. He said to me, Daniel, you man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak to you, and stand upright; for am I now sent to you. When he had spoken this word to me, I stood trembling. Then he said to me, Don’t be afraid, Daniel; forfrom the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard: and I have come for your words’ sake. (Daniel 10:10–12)

While the Bible does not say where Daniel was, we can be sure that if he knew what happening to his friends, he would have been praying a prayer of faith.

Faith is not wishful thinking. Faith is about entering into a relationship and completing one’s confession with deeds done (James 2:18–20).

Daniel Was A Person Who Had Faith And Acknowledged God By Relating To Him

WESTERN CHRISTIANS SEEM TO BE AT ODDS WITH THE LAW OF GOD BECAUSE OF THE LAWS THAT ARE SANCTIONED BY THE POLITICIANS AND THE JUDICIARY. In most countries the Christians are not making the laws. Besides, most of the people who call themselves Christians are not really true Christians but nominal Christians, who are born into a culture that likes to call itself Christian, when in fact it is really secular and non-Christian.

Christians do not understand the Ten Commandments and what God requires of them. Theologians dismiss them. Bible Colleges dismiss them. As do many who like to see Christianity as merely understanding what happened in the Book of Acts or a new religious expression founded upon the letters of Paul.

Once you realize the truth of the Ten Commandments (that they are the plumbline required for measuring truth (Amos 7:7-9) and understand the message of the Scriptures, you also understand that Christians ought to be more interested in having God’s blessing upon their lives. This way people who are not Christians can see what they are missing out on. Instead, the doctrine of grace is claimed to cover everything a person does. This is the doctrine where a person can shoot whoever, whenever, wherever, and then ask forgiveness, only to do the same the next day without retribution.

The Bible does not teach a doctrine of grace for salvation (Romans 6:1-2) but a doctrine of faith the brings forth fruit. The grace is the blessing of God that falls upon those who exercise faith and bring forth fruit. But what we see among those who claim to be Christians is faith appears to be something of which they have little. This is why people have little faith in other people and social cohesion is breaking down.

The truth is that all we really need to live with each other in peace, experience health and wealth, while not violating the Ten Commandments. Instead, there are laws created that disregard the Ten Commandments, and people point to the biblical injunction to obey authorities (Romans 13:1-6) as the overriding requirement. Now the lawmakers have so many laws about the laws that are a violation of law of God that to contest any of the laws created by these lawmakers and placed on the statute books is considered a sin.

Those of us, who acknowledge the truth, understand the difference between the Law of God and the laws of men, and realize that the King of Kings, who reigns in the Kingdom of God, is to whom our allegiance lies.
