Many people resort to all kinds of arguments to convince us that God exists. Some believe that making these arguments sound sophisticated and mysterious serves as proof of God's existence.
Antony Flew was an atheist who railed against God. He was Richard Dawkins' mentor. Richard Dawkins wrote a book entitled The God Delusion. Dawkins' mentor criticized him, claiming that he was now writing nonsense. Why the change? Antony Flew was no longer an atheist; he had come to accept the existence of God.
How Can Someone Know God Is Real?
I don’t need anyone to convince me that God is real—because I know Him personally.
God has filled my heart with something so special—it’s called the joy of salvation. It’s not just a feeling of happiness or excitement. It’s an inner assurance that stays, even when I’m not smiling. It’s the calm in my heart that says, “You are not alone. You are loved. I am with you.”
But I understand that not everyone feels this way. Some people honestly wonder, “How can I know if God is real?”
That’s a fair question. And here are some ways people have tried to answer it:
The World Had to Start Somewhere
Everything we see had a beginning. Trees, animals, planets—even time itself.
So who started it all?
Many believe that there was an Intelligent Being who made the universe, because something can’t come from nothing. If there was a Big Bang, something must have caused it. And the Intelligent Being who always existed—before time began—we call God.
The World Looks Designed
The Earth is just the right distance from the sun. Our bodies are amazingly complex. Our hearts beat without us telling them to. Our eyes can focus, cry, and heal. DNA is like a computer code inside us.
It’s hard to believe all of this just happened by accident.
Many people look at creation and say, “This looks like someone smarter than me made it.” That someone is God.
Right and Wrong Come From Somewhere
Have you ever thought something was just wrong, even if no one told you?
Why do people in almost every country believe that stealing is bad, or that kindness is good?
Some say that’s because we were made in the image of a God who is perfectly good and just. If there is a moral law, there must be a Moral Lawgiver.
People All Over the World Believe in God
For thousands of years, in every part of the world, people have believed in some kind of higher power. Some of their ideas are different, but almost everyone has asked: “Where did the first persons come from? Who made them? Why are we here?”
That deep question is like a compass in our hearts, pointing toward the truth.
Even Science Can Hint at God
Scientists tell us about the how, but can’t explain the why.
Scientists tell us the universe is expanding, but not why it began. Scientists believe they know how DNA works, but not who wrote the code.
Some scientists say that the more they study the universe, the more they believe there is a Super Intelligent Mind behind it all—God.
People Feel That Life Should Be Better
You might ask:
- “If life just ends, what’s the point of anything?”
- “Why is there so much suffering?”
- “Why do people hurt each other when we all just want love?”
Those are really big questions. The Bible says we exist to look for God and to find Him (Acts 17:27).
The world feels broken because it is. But the Son of God came to fix it—and to fix our hearts too.
The Son of God Shows Us What God Is Like
On man known as Jesus of Nazareth didn’t just talk about God—He claimed to be the Son of God. He healed the sick, raised the dead, forgave sinners, and even rose from the dead Himself.
One person, who knew the love of Jesus, wrote:
- “For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life.” (John 3:16—GNT)
So What Should I Do?
If you really want to know if God is real, you don’t need to be super smart. You just need to ask Him yourself:
“God, if You’re real, please show me. Help me know You.”
And then, wait. The Bible says:
- “Wait for the Lord. Be strong. Let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord” (Psalm 27:14—ESV)
- “Those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength. They will rise up with wings like eagles.” (Isaiah 40:31)
So what I am saying is:
God doesn’t want to just prove He’s real. He wants to have a relationship with you.
He loves you. He place a spirit in you. He sees your questions, your pain, your hopes. And He’s calling you—through the stars, through Scripture, through your heart.
- “This is love—not that we loved God, but that He loved us...” (1 John 4:10)
You’re not alone. You’re not an accident. You exist to know Him.
And when you do…like me…you’ll never be the same.
There Is Only One Way To Truly Discover God’s Existence: Seek Him Out!
