Lord Jesus Christ who will change our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power which enables him even to subject all things to himself (v 21), and this means following phenomena will occur.
The dead in Christ who are raised, and those who are to be saved from the impending doom, will receive immortal bodies:
- Lo! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. For this perishable nature must put on the imperishable, and this mortal nature must put on immortality. When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy victory? O death, where is thy sting?” (1 Corinthians 15:51-55
Each one who is resurrected or caught up in the air will also receive their rewards to distinguish the type of glorification each will receive:
- According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and another man is building upon it. Let each man take care how he builds upon it. For no other foundation can any one lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any one builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw— each man’s work will become manifest; for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. If the work which any man has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. If any man’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire. (1 Corinthians. 3:10-15)
However, rather interestingly, there is this warning that follows the declaration concerning rewards:
- Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? If any one destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him. For God’s temple is holy, and that temple you are.
- Let no one deceive himself. If any one among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. ( I Corinthians 3:16-18)
The relationship between Lord Jesus Christ's return and glorification has to do with judgment. For those who are are unbelievers and hypocrites, and are not serious about seeking the truth and establishing their eternal heritage there will be unfavorable judgment. For those who are to be receive their heritage, this judgment will discern the the rewards they receive. Evidently, some will have immortal bodies but no glorification as they will be like silhouettes, while others will glisten like precious stones, polished silver or possess golden glory.
The Days Of Glorification Will Be A Splendid Affair But Only If You Are There
